"Tina is one of our most valued speakers in the Life Advice programme at LEH. She is hugely knowledgeable and highly approachable, and our pupils find her talks practical and positive, crammed full as they are of useful information and suggestions. Tina's mission is to help our teenagers to understand the importance of nutrition and the crucial role it plays in their cognition and well-being and, as a teacher and mother, I can think of no more important lesson, particularly during adolescence and in examination seasons".
Ms Rachel Hart, Head of PSHE, Lady Eleanor Holles

Diet and nutrition can give the competitive edge in both academic and sporting performance
In an ever growing competitive environment where see so many young people and children struggling at school, research shows that diet and lifestyle can influence every aspect of a child's and can truly make the biggest difference to their;
Mental Health:
• Brain Development: The brain undergoes significant development during childhood. Nutrients such as omega-3 fatty acids, iron, zinc, and vitamins are critical for cognitive function, memory, and concentration.

• Attention and Concentration: Nutrition can impact a child's ability to concentrate and stay focused. Diets rich in whole foods and nutrients have been linked to improved attention spans.
• Behavioural Disorders: Some studies suggest a connection between certain dietary patterns and a lower risk of behavioral disorders in children.
Academic Performance:
• Cognitive Abilities: Nutrient-rich diets support cognitive abilities such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and information processing, all of which contribute to academic success.
• Energy Levels: Proper nutrition ensures a stable supply of energy, helping children stay alert and active during school hours.
Sporting Performance:
• Energy and Endurance: Athletes, including children involved in sports, require proper nutrition to sustain energy levels and enhance endurance during physical activities.
• Muscle Development and Recovery: Nutrients like protein play a crucial role in muscle development and recovery, contributing to improved athletic performance.
Growth and Development:
• Development: Adequate nutrition is essential for proper growth and development. Nutrients like proteins, vitamins, and minerals are crucial for the development of bones, muscles, and organs.
• Immune System: Proper nutrition supports a strong immune system, helping children resist infections and illnesses.
